Willow Smith Admits To Cutting Herself During 'Whip My Hair' Period

Jada Pinkett Smith's Facebook series Red Table Talks has already had its share of eyebrow-raising revelations over the span of just two shows. Perhaps the most shocking thus far? When her daughter, Willow Smith, revealed that she self-harmed after her hit song "Whip My Hair" launched her into stardom. "After all of that settled down and there was a lull, I was just listening to a lot of dark music and it was just so crazy," she told her mother and grandmother on the show. "I was just plunged into this black hole and I was cutting myself." Later in the conversation, she went deeper into her reasoning, saying, "I was kind of just in this grey area of like 'Who am I? Do I have a purpose? Is there anything that I can do beyond this?' I honestly felt like I was experiencing so much emotional pain but my physical circumstances weren't reflecting that." Thankfully, Willow eventually realized that this wasn't a path she wanted to go down and eventually stopped the harmful behavior three years later. Though she's stopped, maybe her testimony can help a teen experiencing similar feelings. #ItsOKNotToBeOK
