6LACK Shows Us The Dark Side Of Fame In 'Switch'

Singer, songwriter and rapper 6LACK has released the visuals for his latest single "Switch." He dropped the single just last month, after postponing his European tour to spend more time with his daughter. While the song discusses the weight of fame, the Rohan Blair-Mangat-directed video supports it with matching visuals giving us a behind-the-scenes look at 6LACK's life beyond the spotlight.

The video starts with a quick montage of footage taken from 6LACK's real life before switching to a scene of him laid out in the street with debris around him in the aftermath of a motorcycle accident. Although in distress, he sings through his pain. Meanwhile, a swarm of paparazzi surrounds him to take photographs instead of helping the injured artist. Throughout the video we see additional footage of him rocking the mic on stages, interacting with fans, getting his hair cut and sharing sentimental moments with his infant daughter. We're transported into 6LACK's memory bank as his life flashes before his eyes. At the end of the video he's still laying on the ground near his crashed motorcycle, and we're left to speculate if he lives or dies.

We appreciate 6LACK giving us a glimpse into his life in "Switch" and look forward to hearing more on his forthcoming project. We're not sure when the new album will be released, but we're guessing it'll drop after the Atlanta native is done with his run on Chris Brown's Heartbreak On A Full Moon Tour and his festival dates across Europe and in the U.S. through October. Whether you plan to catch 6LACK in concert or not, you can cop "Switch" from your favorite digital retailer now and watch the moody video for the dark track here.
