Allen Stone Expands His Fall Tour & Wants Us To Walk Tall Like 'Warriors' Ahead Of New Album

It's safe to say our boy Allen Stone has experienced some major highs this year. The soulful artist got engaged and celebrated the good news with an ode to his fiancée entitled "Brown Eyed Lover." Then he spent some time as a guest mentor on ABC's reboot of American Idol. The high-profile stint, which produced memorable duets with Dennis Lorenzo and Marcio Donaldson, also boosted digital sales of his 2011 breakout "Unaware" and his albums as well.

The momentum has been great for tickets sales of his upcoming fall tour. So much so, that he just announced an additional 20 stops, practically doubling our chances to see him perform live. Even better than that, all of this excitement is leading up to a full-length album that he's currently putting the finishing touches on. So yeah, it's been a pretty good year so far, and it seems like the best is yet to come. But don't get it twisted, it's been a long road for the talented singer-songwriter.

The release of his new song, "Warriors," reminds us that the road to success requires hard work. Allen admits, “This song came in a period of struggle. Inspiration hadn’t come through to visit for a while. I had felt like I was just pushing a big rock up a hill while wearing flip-flops. I was reminded in that moment that true success comes when you face adversity head on and push through those moments of hardship. Walk tall like Warriors even when terrified.”

Produced by SoulBounce fave Jamie Lidell, the lively anthem is a great morale boost for anyone who feels like throwing in the towel. Lidell's spirited production shows the influence of his adopted Nashville home, infusing the soulful tune with a little bit country and a little bit rock-and-roll. We almost feel like we can conquer the world as Stone sings, "We don’t run from our opponents / Even when we’re close to broken / Walk tall like warriors / Head high, head high, head high." We aren't the only ones feeling inspired by the song as "Warriors" was chosen to be featured during yesterday's opening ceremony for the Special Olympics USA Games.

While we don't have an official title or release date for the new album, we're happy that we don't have to wait to add the song to our playlists.
