AlunaGeorge & Cautious Clay Offer Up Their 'Superior Emotion'

We've had our eyes and ears on the lookout for a new AlunaGeorge album ever since they dropped dual singles back in 2017. However, a new project never materialized. Now, however, the newly indie duo is back with new single "Superior Emotion" ahead of the release of their upcoming EP Champagne Eyes.

For "Superior Emotion," they tap up-and-coming R&B star Cautious Clay to duet with the duo's singer Aluna Francis. This results in a dreamy duet about lovers in search of something more. Aluna starts things off on the first verse by letting us know that she's fighting against herself but can't resist trying to find the high that love gives. "Superior emotion / Obsessed with the mess and the feeling of devotion," she sings once she gets to the chorus. "That's what I want but I know I don't need it." Cautious Clay appropriately provides her with caution, warning her that "you need patience to love / you're wasting your modesty." While both singers offer charged performances, the hypnotic production is what seals the deal. The group's production half George Reid creates a sound bed of twinkling keys, claps, strings and synths that is sure to enchant anyone who listens.

With Champagne Eyes set to arrive next month, "Superior Emotion" sets the stage for what is sure to be another quality release from AlunaGeorge. Prepare yourself for what's to come by checking out the single below.
