Normani Gets 'So Into' This Tamia Cover & Performs 'Love Lies' For 'Honda Stage'

Normani recently took her talents to the Honda Stage to give a special performance of Tamia's classic hit "So Into You" and her duet with Khalid"Love Lies."  The new series by Billboard and American Honda is a platform that celebrates determined breakout artists and features exclusive live performances. Dressed in all black and perched on a stool, the songstress first tackled Tamia's '90s track backed by a three-piece band. She decided to take on the song because she, "just really loves the '90s," she says in the video. Normani sang "So Into You" as sweet as Tamia, slowing down the track and adding her own personal runs to round it out.

Normani looked and sounded more comfortable once she performed "Love Lies." She immediately draws you with her velvety vocals, adding a little sass to her live performance. She takes the rock-laced single and adds a thick layer of R&B with her easy breezy delivery and makes the Honda Stage (which is actually just warehouse) hers by the end of the three-minute performance.

In addition to linking up with Khalid earlier this year on "Love Lies," Normani recently hopped on the remix for Jessie Reyez's "Body Count" along with Kehlani back in August. We're loving these collaborations and this unexpected Tamia cover for Honda Stage, but what we're really waiting on is some original solo music from the young chanteuse. Hopefully something new is coming with from the former Fifth Harmony member's direction soon, but these Honda Stage performances are a nice distraction.
