Amber Mark & DRAM Are Living In A '90s Kind Of World In 'Put You On'

Amber Mark is out here living her best life in a ‘90s kind of world. Her latest single, “Put You On” featuring DRAM, a song about an around the way girl who hits it big but still has time for the man in her life, is heavily inspired by ‘90s R&B. Thankfully, in addition to giving us a throwback track, Ms. Mark also gives us a nostalgic video that captures the look and feel of ‘90s New York City.

The concept of the video is that Amber runs into DRAM randomly at her local bodega. The two are smitten but play it cool until they see each other at a party later. Directed by Mahaneela, the video features many hallmarks of ‘90s music videos and fashion. There’s the classic shot of Amber and her girls sitting on the stoop, rocking throwback fashions like Fila sweat suits, the camcorder filter a la LL Cool J’s “Around the Way Girl” video and a few more. We’d point them all out, but we think it’s more fun to piece them together yourself.

Amber Mark recently became the first singer to release music on the W Records platform, a collaboration between W Hotels and Giant Step, with a cover of "High On Your Love" by Kings Go Forth and a rework of her own song "Can You Hear Me." She is also currently getting ready to support Leon Bridges on his UK tour. Make plans to catch this rising star while you can and see how many ‘90s references you can catch in the "Put You On" video right here.
