Who Asked For This? Amy Winehouse Hologram To Tour Next Year

There are usually cash grabs when an entertainer dies, but Amy Winehouse's estate (particularly her father, Mitch Winehouse) takes the cake. Her father told Reuters that Amy would be returning to the stage in hologram form for an upcoming tour next year. The Amy hologram would be projected in front of a live band as they perform some of the singer's greatest hits for audiences across the world. "Fans have been clamoring for something new from Amy, but really there isn’t anything new," Mitch Winehouse said during an interview. "We felt this would be a tremendous way for Amy both to revisit her fans through a hologram, and also an incredible way to raise money for our foundation." Meanwhile, Brian Becker, the CEO of BASE Hologram — the company in charge of recreating Amy's likeness, reassured skeptics, saying, "We will do the best we can in terms of honoring her legacy. This is a celebration." We're not sure about all that, but at least proceeds for the upcoming tour will be given to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which helps youth battling with substance abuse. Still, we can't help but feel icky about all of this. #LetAmyRestInPeace
