Janelle Monáe's Wondaland Pictures Lands Production Deal With Universal

Janelle Monáe has been pretty bossy since she exploded onto the music scene in black-and-white. It's no surprise, then, that the singer/actress continues to make boss moves. Her latest move expands her Wondaland empire into the film business, with the Wondaland Pictures extension of the brand inking a first-look deal with Universal. The deal will see Janelle and her team linking up with Universal to "develop multi-genre content with an emphasis on championing underrepresented voices and groundbreaking perspectives." Looks like we can expect some feature-length "emotion pictures" coming from Janelle's camp in the near future. #MovieMogulJane
