Kali Uchis Takes On Björk's 'Venus As A Boy' & Proves She's Not A 'Stranger' For 'Like A Version'

Kali Uchis recently skipped on over to Australia to make an appearance on the popular triple j radio music segment Like A Version. The show gives artists a chance to play one of their own tracks and then cover a song that they love. The eclectic songstress bravely chose a Björk cut, "Venus As A Boy," from the Icelandic artist's 1993 album Debut.

For the performance, Kali donned a scarf-bustier combo and transported us to another world the minute she started singing. Kali provides the perfect tribute, sounding almost exactly like Björk but still adding her own personal touch in her cover. She inserts the perfect amount of airiness and vocal power as the band effortlessly keeps up with her on the reggae-laced track.

Kali explained to triple j why she took on Björk. "I think it's my favorite song of hers," she said. "I have a few favorites from her but that was one was one that I always felt was really special to me personally." Later, Kali returned to her element to perform her own soulful track "Just A Stranger," reminding us why she's quickly become one of our favorites.
