Michelle Lawson Is 'Looking For Love'

Despite making an early exit on The X Factor UK back in 2014, singer Michelle Lawson hasn't let that deter her from her musical passions. Lawson has consistently stayed working, releasing new music and making a name for herself as a local performer. Now she returns with a new single, the infectious "Looking for Love" and its hopeful message of finding true love.

On the uptempo number, Lawson captures the excitement that often accompanies budding romance. The track has a classic soul feel circa the late '70s and early '80s. This nostalgic vibe may not be totally accidental given that it was produced by Michael Daley who has worked with the likes of the Dazz Band and Billy Ocean. While a lesser vocalist could risk being drowned out by the vastness of the song's horns and beat, Lawson's powerful voice steps up to the challenge easily. She effortlessly hits all of the big notes without sounding as if she is competing to be heard. Each of these elements comes together to create a fun dance tune reminiscent of Cheryl Lynn's "Got to Be Real" or Teena Marie's "Square Biz."

Check out the latest from Lawson and see if it doesn't leave you in the mood to groove.
