21 Savage Faces Deportation After Being Detained In ICE Sting
The city of Atlanta might have been basking in the glitz and glamour of Super Bowl weekend but one person's fun times were unexpectedly cut short hours before the big game. 21 Savage, whose government name is Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was arrested and detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers during a sting operation. The news was shocking for several reasons, most notably because it revealed that 21 was actually a UK national and that he was also facing possible deportation. Members of the hip-hop community immediately came out in support of 21, with JAY-Z even paying for an additional lawyer for the embattled rap star. Meanwhile, the rapper, who has long claimed to be an Atlanta native, became the subject of several memes across the web poking fun a the little-known fact that 21 was UK national.
