Background singers are no longer 'bout that 20 feet from stardom life. Take Anthony Hamilton's The Hamiltones for instance, who've become a standout act in their own right. Now another set of talented background singers are stepping into the limelight, The Amours. Composed of sisters Jakiya Ayanna and Shaina Aisha, the two have honed their craft singing live on the road for PJ Morton, becoming an integral part of his live show experience. One listen to their heavenly harmonies and beautiful blends on their new song "All The Time," and you’ll understand why.
Their official debut single, “All The Time” is a touching mid-tempo ballad about spending your every waking moment with the person you love. “I think it’s crazy / You still amaze me / I’m usually over it by now,” the sisters sing together in unison. The ladies make the crazy proposition sound inviting and touching. Their R&B love letter is set to a groovy bed of synths, bass and drums. Capturing that classic R&B feel was very important to the group. “When creating ‘All The Time,’ we wanted to make sure that we stayed true to the essence of real, feel-good R&B music," Jakiya told Okayplayer. "From the lyrics to the melody to easing into our signature harmonic arrangements. We’re sure that our sound will capture an audience of listeners who simply appreciate music that feeds the soul.”
“All The Time” will be featured on The Amours upcoming EP entitled Mon Amour. There’s no news on when that project will drop, but we’re excited to learn more. What we do know is that The Amours will join PJ Morton on his upcoming Keys And A Mic Acoustic Tour, which kicks off in April and is already sold out in their hometown of Washington, D.C.
