Library Of Congress Adds JAY-Z's 'Blueprint' To Its Archive

Congrats are in order for JAY-Z and hip-hop in general. Jay's seminal 2001 album The Blueprint has gotten its due since its release, but it now has the honor of being added to the archives of the Library of Congress. Other titles set to be inducted in Registry include songs from Earth, Wind & Fire and music from the motion picture Super Fly. "The National Recording Registry honors the music that enriches our souls, the voices that tell our stories, and the sounds that mirror our lives," Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden, the first woman and first African-American to hold the position, said in a statement. "The Library of Congress and its many collaborators are working to preserve these sounds and moments in time, which reflect our past, present and future." #WhoeverThoughtThatHipHopWouldTakeItThisFar
