Kirk Franklin Reminds Us That It's Gonna Be 'OK'

Gospel guru Kirk Franklin spent much of last year helping artists like Tori Kelly and August Greene break into praise. Now the award-winning artist/songwriter/producer is shifting focus back to his solo career and preparing to release his 13th studio album, LONG LIVE LOVE, on May 31st. The jamming lead single "Love Theory" has been holding down the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs for almost four months now. But Mr. Franklin has much more inspirational goodness to share.

His latest release "OK" is another signature tune, built upon a funky old school sound while touching on real-life issues and God-centered solutions. Franklin's talented backing vocalists deliver powerful reminders like, "See, I gotta remember that my God is bigger than any battle I’ll ever face. So I’m gon' be OK!" For the song's video, Matt DeLisi embraces the throwback vibe, transporting us back to the '60s and '70s, and throwing in some fun animated graphics for good measure. Peep the official video for "OK" below, then keep scrolling for an in-studio performance of his previous single, "Just For Me."

If your playlist could use an inspirational boost, pre-order LONG LIVE LOVE to receive instant downloads of the album's three singles. Additionally, Franklin will host and headline the 2nd Annual Exodus Music & Arts Festival featuring some of gospel music's finest, on May 26th in Irving, TX. Also, he'll resume hosting duties for the ninth season of BET’s Sunday Best, premiering Sunday, June 30th. Shortly after that, his 26-city LONG LIVE LOVE Tour will kick off on July 11th in Austin, TX. Visit his website or social media feeds for full details on his packed schedule.
