Cadillac kicked off their ABFF activation by hosting an insightful and engaging keynote conversation between actress Sanaa Lathan and director Malcolm D. Lee. B. Monet – the first African-American woman to direct a Cadillac commercial – introduced her 30-second “Keep Rising Together” spot and teed up the Black Girl Magic that would ensue. The montage of clips from Lathan’s most beloved film and television roles and conversation about her versatility, growth and accomplishments provided the perfect segue to Cadillac’s presentation of the first-ever Vanguard Award to Lathan for her achievements in film and television. After the event, we had our own mini conversation with Georgetown alum and fellow Hoya, Lee. Malcolm gave us the scoop on what’s next for him and if we can expect sequels to The Best Man and Girls Trip in the not too distant future.

We took advantage of the luxurious Ride With Cadillac complimentary shuttle experience for ABFF passholders. In its second year, the program exposes customers to Cadillac’s high-quality product line in a fun and innovative way. The easy check-in process, helpful staff and chauffeured rides between the three festival hubs kept us cool in the heat and out of the rain. The fleet of SUVs were a welcome sight all around Miami Beach. Friday afternoon, we commandeered an all-new 2019 Cadillac XT4 for a drive to our favorite refueling point, The Daily Creative Food Co., and cruised Ocean Drive stunting on ‘em in the twilight blue beauty. At $35,000 for a well-equipped model that has all of the amazing design, connectivity, performance and safety we’ve come to expect from the brand, there’s no need to wait to buy your first Cadillac. Targeted toward millennials, the XT4 is a stylish show-stopper with exceptional quality and a high-end feel that doesn’t break the bank.
