Music festival season is in full swing right now, and there are many large and small to look forward to all across the country. There are almost too many festivals to keep up with (said no one ever), but one that should definitely be on your radar if you live in or near to East Orange, New Jersey is the East Orange MACFest, taking place on Saturday, June 8th at the East Orange City Hall Plaza from 12 noon to 9 pm.
Now in its fifth year, the MACFest – shorthand for Music, Arts, Culture Festival – has grown and gotten bigger each year, pulling in major talent to perform thanks to producer Briclyn Entertainment. This year's headliner is the dynamic showman Stokley who goes off and comes alive onstage. Leading up to Stokley, are a diverse roster of performers, including Latin bandleader Tito Puente, Jr., soulful crooner MAJOR., violinist Chelsey Green and The Green Project and many more. Hosting the festivities will be Eric Roberson who will entertain and enlighten on the mic, and he might even drop one of his world-famous freestyle songs if the spirit moves him.
In addition to a full day of music courtesy of the performers and DJs, MACFest will feature a bustling marketplace with numerous food, clothing, art and craft vendors and a fun, family-friendly Kidz Korner. MACFest is a free event to celebrate the community of East Orange, but all welcome to attend. For more information, visit the MACFest website and plan to go and have a good time there tomorrow.
