The Black Eyed Peas & J Balvin Team Up To Give 'Bad Boys For Life' Its 'RITMO'

Bad Boys For Life, the next in line in the famed Bad Boys movie franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, isn't set to hit movie theaters until January 2020. That doesn't mean that we can't get our first taste of the potential blockbuster's soundtrack. Enter The Black Eyed Peas who continue the Latin kick they started with recent single "eXplosion" by linking with J Balvin for new track "RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)."

The track borrows heavily from Corona's '90s dance hit "The Rhythm Of The Night." Combining that track's memorable chorus with a futuristic reggaeton beat, "RITMO" was crafted to rock clubs worldwide. While J Balvin gives the track its Latin flair with a verse and chorus completely in Spanish, The Peas keep up with Spanglish flows that keep the party going. "I wanted to reimagine 'The Rhythm Of The Night' by Corona and give it a minimal, futurist, Afro-fused reggaeton vibe," Peas frontman will.i.am said of the track in a press release. "The final song and video feel like the classic next level futurism that the Black Eyed Peas are all about." Speaking of the video, the fellas go full on futuristic complete with tropical themes and neon colors reminiscent of the Miami setting of the Bad Boys franchise. Dancers in neon masks shake their things as J Balvin and the Peas romp on the sets and in tropical locales amid our first looks at clips from the film.

If the Bad Boys For Life soundtrack is anything like its predecessors, it's sure to be chock-full of jams that will get us moving. We'll find out when both the soundtrack and movie drop on January 10th, 2020. Until then, enjoy the "RITMO" that The Black Eyed Peas and J Balvin are bringing.
