Sonos Move & Sonos Port
You can’t have a bumpin’ house party for New Year’s Eve without the right sound system. And when it comes to speaker systems, you can’t get much better than Sonos. The brand has revolutionized home audio thanks to innovative products like the Sonos One and Play:5. Sonos expanded their line this year with the addition of the Sonos Move, their first-ever speaker made for indoor or outdoor use. The battery-powered speaker can operate via either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and offers everything you’ve come to expect from Sonos — including voice control via either Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa built right in. And if you want to connect your traditional stereo system or other equipment so that it plays well with your new Sonos speaker, then we suggest also picking up the Sonos Port. The Port allows you to stream all of your music (even your vinyl!) to your Sonos home setup, but it also allows you to stream music from the Sonos app to third-party audio sources as well. At $399, each device is a little pricey, but with higher-quality sound than Bluetooth allows (not to mention the absence of pesky interruptions like phone calls) they’re both well worth the investment. — D-Money
