Please Wait & Masego Soar On 'Flight 99'

Following the release of their debut EP, Black & White, Australian producer/photographer Ta-ku and Canadian producer Matt McWaters, collectively known as Please Wait, have dropped a truly stunning visual for the project’s lead single “Flight 99.” The song features music maven and the silk gawd himself Masego, and it tells the tale of a man trying to make his way back to his lady after admitting his wrongdoing. Over a gorgeous track laced with melancholy piano chords and penetrating yet delicate drum kicks, he pleads his case, seeking the opportunity to start fresh and make this thing right. The track is punctuated with a saxophone solo towards the end, taking the listener all the way to the edge emotionally, as it picks up where the transparency in the lyrics leaves off.

Ta-ku’s expert eye for photography is apparent from the very first frame of the accompanying visual. Keeping with the black-and-white theme of the EP's title, the flawless capture, shot and edited by Robert Winter and Jens Lindemann, features Uncle Sego making his way through an airport and train station. In between shots of the city, highways and byways, we catch him in rather reflective poses, which pairs perfectly with the subject of the song. Those unfamiliar with the duo’s previous work are treated to a breathtaking introduction to the elegance and polish of every facet of their art.
