Dutch singer-songwriter Benny Sings is coming off a banner year. 2019 saw him release his stellar set City Pop and also participate in collaborations with faves like Tuxedo. With a year full of win like that, it's no wonder why he would want to celebrate. He does so with a gift to his fans in the form of new single "Music."
"Music" is full of the earnestness we have come to expect from Benny Sings. He lets us in on his love affair with his craft and how it helps him through the hard times. "Music help me through this / I can't do this all on my own," he sings on the chorus. "Music help me through this / Whenever I'm down on the floor." Underscoring his lyrics is a musical arrangement featuring piano front and center as it rides over a smooth bass groove. Horns and layered backing vocals round things out as he tells the story of how music saves him every time. As if that weren't enough, Benny also pieced together a music video featuring home videos of him as a child, including possibly one of the first times he ever tickled the keys.
"I wanted to release 'Music' as really a big thank you to all the music lovers all over the world, as it's all about the music," Benny shared on Twitter. "I couldn’t have done it without you."
