It's 'Oct 33' For Black Pumas On 'COLORS'

After a critically-praised debut album release last summer, soulful duo Black Pumas secured a foothold on 2019 with steady airplay, sold out shows and a Best New Artist nomination for the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards. With an ever-growing fanbase and high-profile appearances (i.e. Coachella 2020) on the horizon, we can expect to hear and see lots more from the Texas-based gents this year, starting with a recent stop at Berlin's COLORS Studio.

We're not sure why guitarist and producer Adrian Quesada isn't present on the sage green stage, but that fact becomes a distant memory once singer-songwriter Eric Burton begins his performance of their hit song "Oct 33."  Without the rhythmic beats, mournful strings and haunting background vocals of the original, Burton's affective vocalwork is allowed to take root and fully bloom throughout the slowed, stripped-down arrangement.

Ironically, the COLORS appearance follows the recent release of the music video for Black Pumas song "Colors."  Scroll down to peep both clips, and tune into The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight, to watch Black Pumas perform live. Afterwards, follow the band on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for tour updates and more.
