In preparation for her forthcoming EP Intérimes, singer/songwriter/musician/producer Adeline continues her monthly leak of new music with the energetic, sexy tune "After Midnight." Never one to be conventional, the former frontwoman for nu-disco band Escort has opted to drop the self-directed visuals before the official single is released "after midnight" tonight. Either way, this jam is the perfect groove for any time of the day or night.
The fun clip centers on Adeline alone at home playing dress-up. But this isn't your average wardrobe, it's a rack of couture pieces tailor-made for the part-time model. "After Midnight" brings out the kid in us, but it also makes us feel grown and sexy as Adeline flirtatiously sings, "Rising. Only one thing on my mind / Crazy longing as the time goes by / Just hit me up cuz it’s time / I need somebody to release me / I’m over trynna hold it inside / I need your body cuz I’m fiending."
The singer explains that the inspiration for the song "was all about creating an undeniable groove...Something that’s fresh and fun yet classic and soulful at the same time." In addition to a production assist from creative partner Morgan Wiley, "After Midnight" was co-written with Jonathan Singletary and features Jaleel Bunton on guitar and Jim Orso on drums. But that funky bass line is all Adeline.
