Kehlani Wants To Break Up Just To Make Up On 'F&MU'

Kehlani hasn’t let being stuck indoors during quarantine block her creativity. If anything, the Oakland native seems to have found her stride by creating new songs and accompanying visuals that make use of her surroundings for a big impact. Her latest creation “F&MU” is no different.

“F&MU,” which stands for “F**k and Make Up,” is an uptempo groove about purposefully getting into an argument with your lover, which leads to passionate sex. “I hate you turns into I love you in the bedroom” she coos on the chorus. Produced by frequent collaborator, Jahaan Sweet the track captures Kehlani's '90s-inspired R&B sound.

The video for “F&MU” finds Kehlani adding a bit of flair to the "Quarantine & Chill" concept, mixing mundane everyday activities with some sexy choreography from her and her male co-star. Lani and her leading man raise a few eyebrows as they roll around in bed and get hot and heavy in a steamy shower scene. There's no social distancing to be found between these two, which leads us to wonder if this young man is Kehlani's real-life quarantine boo with all their carrying on.

“F&MU” will be featured on Kehlani’s forthcoming new album, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t, which is due for release on Friday, May 8th. The full tracklist hasn't been revealed yet, but previous loosies “Everybody Business” and “Toxic” seem to still be in the number. We'll find out soon enough.
