JoJo & PJ Morton Want Santa To Un-Break Their Hearts On 'Wishlist'

Christmas lists are often filled with the most outrageous, extravagant and unattainable things. Expensive gaming systems, the end of world hunger, world peace and unicorns are just some of the most outlandish gift ideas that may never come to pass. But, something that seems much more realistic, although it could be considered equally as absurd, is reuniting with a lost love for the holidays. That doesn’t stop JoJo from asking Santa Claus to un-break her heart on “Wishlist” with some help from PJ Morton.

“There’s only one thing on my wishlist / Santa, bring him home to me,” JoJo pines to jolly old Saint Nick against PJ Morton’s sublime piano accompaniment. While Morton has his own holiday album out – the deluxe edition of Christmas With PJ Morton – the ever-busy musician made some time to play the keys and hit a few notes with his “Say So” duet partner. Together, the pain and sorrow of lost love comes through loud and clear.

While “Wishlist” is on the sadder side of Christmas music, the video adds a little bit of hope. In the clip, we see a young girl getting ready for a visit from Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and making out her final wishlist. While being a princess and having her own dinosaur are on her wishlist, she lists family at the top as we see photographs of them around her room. When the young girl goes to open her presents on Christmas morning, she doesn’t find her family under the tree, but she is blessed with the presents she does receive– a toy dinosaur and princess outfit. As we all gear up to celebrate our first (and hopefully last) COVID Christmas separated from our loved ones, this video tugs at the heartstrings.

“Wishlist” appears on JoJo’s new Christmas album December Baby. The project is a mix of Christmas classics and soon-to-be holiday favorites. We knew the album was going to be all that and then some from her Amazon Original cover of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” from 2019. Everyone is sure to find something to put them in the Christmas spirit this holiday season and in years to come.
