Mya Isn't Afraid To Do Her On 'I'ma Do It'

We don't know when she finds the time, but it seems like Mya has always got something new for us. Her work ethic continues to show no stopping in 2020. Having already dropped a couple singles this year, the talented R&B vet is back once again with her newest jam "I'ma Do It."

Mya takes us back to the sound of "G.M.O." on the track, with a throbbing, rubbery synth bass and trap-style programmed drums. And, like "G.M.O.," she takes the opportunity to talk her ish on the track. "If I wanna twerk / I'ma do it / Go to work / I'ma do it / Give myself a couple hours on the low / I'ma do it," she announces on the chorus while asserting just how grown she is. But it's not just about how much she's feeling herself or her growing bank account. The song is more so a statement of her independence and her lack of need for other's approval. The message might be a little simple, but we hear it loud and clear.

With a month to go before 2020 is in the history books, "I'ma Do It" might be the last new track from Mya this year. However, we wouldn't be surprised if the prolific songstress pulls another one out of her bag before the year is up.
