We Are 'Lucky' To Witness Tiana Major9's 'Tiny Desk (Home) Concert'

With the end of the year fast approaching, many will be assembling their "Best of 2020" lists, and if Tiana Major9's major label debut EP isn't on that list, then it honestly can't be trusted. That's just how good At Sixes And Sevens is. We've had it in heavy rotation ever since its August release, and it likely won't fall out of favor anytime soon with Tiana still doing heavy promo to support the project. The British-Jamaican songstress has been popping up here, there and everywhere, including on NPR Music's Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts for an intimate performance straight from her living room.

Tiana invited cameras into her South London home where she was joined by musicians Daniella Bernard on keys, Gaetan Judd on guitar and Benjamin Bekantoy on bass. Seated next to the guitarist and bassist on a sectional, Miss Major9 began her set with "Collide," the EARTHGANG collaboration from Queen & Slim that introduced her to many stateside. She effortlessly handled the duet on the solo tip, making light work of the dramatic song. She kept the vibe mellow with her next selection, the love song "...Exclusively." Tiana then picked up the pace on her soulful reggae single "Think About You." She somehow remained seated while singing the bop, and surprised even more when she started to scat during an unexpected jazzy breakdown. Tiana wrapped with the song "Lucky," bringing her mini-concert to a delightful end.
