Black-owned small businesses have been hit especially hard during this pandemic, with many not receiving the necessary support and funding that they need from the government and temporary shutdowns becoming permanent. Lucky for us, New York City-based boutique Askan is still standing and, in addition to having their storefront in the heart of the Lower East Side, they sell their clothing and accessories online.
