Jazmine Sullivan Pleads The Case For A 'Girl Like Me' On 'The Tonight Show'

Jazmine Sullivan just dropped her first new project in six years with the release of her EP Heaux Tales. That means that she's in the midst of a promotional junket for the project. Her next stop was at last night's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she trotted out her current single "Girl Like Me" for the late night audience.

Jazmine performed the track flanked by two guitarists and sans her collaborator H.E.R., meaning that the audience got a full dose of Sullivan and her artistic prowess. She delivered on the promise with a performance that grew in intensity from the first note as she explains how living up to the good girl image has cost her in love. Yes, she riffed and ran with abandon during the performance. But she did so with a mastery and precision that many who attempt to do the same only wish to possess. By the end of her set, she had us not only swept up in her talent but completely understanding as to why a good girl can go bad.

We're looking forward to the numerous performances that Jazmine Sullivan has lined up on her docket as she continues to promote Heaux Tales. We'll keep an eye out for where we can see her next while you watch her do her thing below.
