Blakk Soul Loves Out Loud On ‘Right Here’

Though Valentine’s Day has come and gone, love is still in the air, and Blakk Soul is to blame. For his latest single “Right Here,” the Tacoma, Washington-bred singer/songwriter drew inspiration from the love shared between a close friend and his fiancé. The self-proclaimed “King of the Slow Jam” silences critics and wastes no time pouring his heart over the smoldering, piano-drenched track. Bringing back the raw vulnerability of throwback R&B, his intentions are made clear as he sings, “You help me see the beauty of standing in what’s meant for me.”

The touching ballad marks Blakk Soul’s first single of the new year and his first release since his debut album Take Your Time dropped last May. We were honored to premiere his pandemic anthem "Smoke N Chill" in advance of the project and have kept it in rotation ever since. After lending his songwriting and vocal talent to the likes of Anderson .Paak, Dr. Dre and Macklemore, we’re glad to watch as he gains notoriety for his solo work. While there’s no word on whether this latest single serves as a prelude to a new project, he’s given us plenty of slow jam goodness to grind to in the meantime.
