Amber Mark Wants To Know ‘What It Is’ & Announces Debut ‘Three Dimensions Deep’

After critically acclaimed singles and much speculation, Amber Mark is finally ready to release her debut LP. Three Dimensions Deep is set to arrive in the new year and will find the singer getting, well, deep as she searches for the meaning of it all. "Three Dimensions Deep is a musical journey of what questions you begin to ask yourself when you start looking to the universe for answers," she said in a press statement. "I can only go as deep as the third dimension as that’s how we see the world, but what about when you start looking to the universe within for answers?" She also gets to the heart of that matter with her contemplative new single "What It Is."

The song is infused with a timeless sound that echoes the sound of R&B's past while still managing to feel fresh and new thanks to catchy synth and guitar lines that keep the song afloat. Amber meanwhile ponders life's biggest question as she seeks out answers. "What is the point of it all?" she questions on the verse as she searches for the answer to life's most rhetorical question. She elaborates more on the chorus as she sings, "Feel it in my bones / Oh, I've got to know / Tell me what it is / On my mind always / At least 3 times a day / Tell me what it is."

"'What It Is' low-key is the title track of the album without it actually being the title track," Amber explained. "It comes from going through negative experiences which end up being the gateway to a question I think I’ll be asking for the rest of my life. What is the meaning of life, the universe and everything?"

"What It Is" might be the best song we've heard from Amber Mark yet, making Three Dimensions Deep even more anticipated than it was before. We'll see what she's bringing when the set arrives on January 28, 2022. In the meantime, listen to her latest single and view the song's lyric video below.
